Rooftops: stunning, with caveats

A New York rooftop is hard to beat for atmosphere, but confirm the practical details. Open-air setups need cover in case of weather, a level surface for the platform, and power access that may not be obvious on a roof. Wind can also affect lightweight props, so plan accordingly.

• Weather backup: confirm the covered or indoor option.
• Power: ask where the nearest reliable outlet is.
• Load-in: service elevators and roof access can be the limiting factor.

Lofts: usually the easy choice

Downtown and Brooklyn lofts often have the high ceilings, open floor plans, and freight elevators that make booth setup straightforward. They also tend to have controllable lighting, which makes the footage look premium.

Iconic and restricted spaces

Some landmark venues have restrictions on equipment, anchoring, or footprint. It does not mean a booth is off the table, but it does mean confirming the rules in advance and sometimes choosing a compact setup. Ask the venue what vendors are allowed to bring before you commit.
